There
are many devices used to tighten the bottom rope of a volleyball
net. Rope Ratchets® and
the spring loaded clothes-line tensioners are the most common.
The LeverKnot® offers an alternative to these methods with the
following advantages
- Weighs
less than one ounce which prevents
it from tangling in the net during storage.
- Fast
and easy to use.
- No
springs to break.
- It's small.
- It won't slip.
- It can be adjusted easily, even when the pads are on the net.
- There
are no loose ropes to get in the way.
- It's unique
cover stays on the net so it won't get misplaced.

The
success of our VB-6 Volleyball
Net Tensioning System had created numerous requests for
a similar system for the
bottom rope of a volleyball net. The
VB-BR2C Volleyball Net Bottom Rope Tensioning System can
be use to upgrade any net that has a 1/4 inch diameter bottom
rope. They are easy to install and come with a unique cover
that stays on the net. This system works in the same way as the VB-6 using the existing rope on the net.
This
VB-BR2C system comes with 2 1/4 inch LeverKnots and 2 covers.

The 1/4 inch LeverKnot above is shown covered. The 1/8 inch
LeverKnot above it is part of the VB-6 Tensioning System.

Put
up the volleyball net. Center it on the court but don’t
attach the bottom rope. Remove the
existing bottom rope tensioning system,
removing any knots in the rope as necessary.
Thread the bottom rope
through one of the covers.
Then thread the rope
through the hole in the end
of the LeverKnot above the D-ring as shown.
|
|
Place
the bottom rope around the pole and tie a 2 1/2 inch loop in
the rope about a foot
away from the pole.
Tie the loop by folding the
rope back on itself and tying a simple overhand knot
as shown in the inset.

|
Wrap
the looped end of the rope around the pole. Place
the loop through and over the end of the LeverKnot as shown.
|
To
tighten, pull and rotate the LeverKnot away
from the pole.
When
the LeverKnot is released it rotates
further back towards the rope and stays in place. |

|
| NOTE:
It may be necessary to adjust how the ropes are tied to the
net to provide the widest range of adjustment for your net
system. We recommend the position of the LeverKnot to
be approximately midway between the upright and the net when
at full tension. |

|
Lock the LeverKnot in place
by pinching the end
of the LeverKnot and the rope together and
sliding the metal D-ring up within the slot until it
snaps into the notch.
|
Expand
the end of the cover and pull it over the LeverKnot and
the knot in the rope. It’s
simple. It’s
covered. It’s tight.
|
|
To
remove:
- Uncover
by pulling the cover toward the net. (The cover stays
on the rope so it won’t get lost.)
- Unlock
by pinching the end of the LeverKnot and the rope together
and pushing the D-ring in and down within the slot.
- Rotate
the LeverKnot away from the rope and slide it towards the
upright.
- Remove
the loop from the end.
